General Information

The Swiss Capital Harbor Foundation is a full member of the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and was founded in 2007 with the aim to help people who suffer from a rare, life-threatening condition of the brain called Chiari I Malformation.

We are raising funds for our Chiari I Malformation Awareness and Support Project. I would like to explain a few details concerning Chiari and why we desperately need your help. Not only does my 21-year old daughter suffer from this severe condition, but there are also many other Chiari patients in the Albany area and throughout the country who are not fortunate enough to have health insurance. Our daughter is very lucky to be part of a family health-insurance plan and has received her first life-saving surgery in 2005. However, there are many other patients who cannot afford treatment and surgery for this condition and who need our help. Some of them are single mothers who need our immediate support for their own treatment and that of their children.

Our Foundation is also supporting the Club Zoe Youth Enrichment Center in the Southend of Albany. This vital community project offers an after-school preparatory learning program to help at-risk children and youth in the middle and high school population. It also offers an extra-curricular recreation center for drop-in at-risk youth. A new kitchen project has been launched to serve daily enhanced nutritious meals to needy children and youth and to offer vocational training courses for at-risk students to learn the culinary arts.

You can help us by attending our annual Golf Tournament and/or evening Bavarian Dinner Fest.

If you do not play golf, you can attend our evening event only which will be a traditional Bavarian Dinner Fest also at the Wolferts Roost Country Club. We promise lots of fun, Bavarian beer and German wines, a gourmet Alpine dinner buffet, lots of raffle prizes, fashion show by Californian Designer CABI, wine-tasting venue and traditional Bavarian music.

The actual Golf Tournament includes all course fees, lunch and refreshments around the course, Wolferts Roost Pro-Shop Voucher, great prizes and trophies, and cigars rolled by a professional on-site cigar roller.

If you are unable to attend, you can take over a sponsorship or simply make a donation. Every dollar we raise is important to our cause.

Please contact us for further details at: Phone (518) 512 5122 or email foundation@sch-usa.com.

On behalf of the Foundation’s Board, Committee, volunteers, the many Chiari patients in need of our help and the Club Zoe Team, I thank you for your support.
